VPN Subnets

After a successful connection with Cisco VPN Client, can't communicate with the internal network if the client has the same subnet address as the internal network.

My internal network 192.168.1.0/24

VPN Pool 192.168.5.0/24

Any client with a 192.168.1.0/24 address can't communicate with the internal network. Any other subnet works fine.

Check for the ip address assignment on other devices. Try static ARP to any of the device and see if it works.

If the local subnet is the same as the remote subnet, your pc will choose the one which is 'more important':

A directly connected network (the subnet youre in) has more priority than the network which is on the other side of the vpn tunnel. So your pc will look for the device your contacting in your own subnet...the packets will never be sent to the other side of the vpn tunnel.

Hope this information helps, Please rat if it does!

Michael
