Hi, I have seen somewhere in a catalyst config, something related to ip cef. But, as far as I know, Cef is only present for layer 3 switches, starting from 3500 series, isnt it? And even if I can add an ip address to SVI (vlan 1, vlan 2...), this doesnt mean that layer 3 routing can be used for 2900 series, does it?
And my last question :-) is related to CEF. CAn anyone send me a link where I can read useful information related to CEF? The one in mls from BCMSN is not enough!!
Thanks in advance
Jorge

Here you go:
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios121/121cgcr/switch_c/xcprt2/xcdcef.htm
Also, there is a new book being published by Cisco Press authored by Russ White on CEF. Anything Russ writes should be mandatory reading.
I have never heard of CEF on a 2950. Vlans do support IP address for switch management only.

CEf is a layer 3 fast switching method that is standard on current cisco layer 3 products . 2900 series are layer 2 only .

Thanks a lot, you confirm what I thought.
