hi there what is the pros and contras when we use summary adverisement using the aggregrate command vs route-map. i usually use route-map and create summary route using static route via null0 then link it to neighbor command. could aggregate do the same? and should i move to this aggregrate command because there exists another benefits we will get? tx for explanation :)

Jimmy,

Generating an aggregate route using the aggregate-address command or via a network statement is functionally equivalent.

The advantage I see is that using a static route and a network statement is more stable, less incline to flap.

Bear in mind that you have to have a more specific prefix already present in BGP for the aggregate-address command to generate a summary route.

Hope this helps,
