Hi all,
I have an existing Sup I on C4506 and C4507R, and I need to upgrade a network for the upcomming project, which of the sup card can support QOS,POE,MPLS and other routing protocol.
Thanks,
Raj

IP Routing Protocols
The following routing protocols are supported on the Catalyst 4500 series switch:
BGP
OSPF
IGRP
IS-IS
OSPF
RIP
VRRP
With the base IP image, it will only run Eigrp
as a stub. I didn't see anything about MPLS aside from VPN support.
A SupII will support current images and features.

Hi Raj,
4500 series platform supports QoS, MPLS, PoE, and other routing protocol. This however depends on the supervisor engine, IOS, and inline card.
Check model comparison http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps4324/prod_models_comparison.html
Check data sheet
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps4324/products_data_sheet0900aecd801792b1.html
I can't comment on Supervisor Engine I

Hi Eofelt,
From the link above it clearify that MPLS is not supported by C4500 series no matter which ever Sup card one uses.
So can conclude that C4506 and 07R will be of no use if I plan to use MPLS in my network.
Thank u very much for ur reply and Link provided.

Raj,
Cat4500 deosnot support MPLS at this point of time. It supports QOS,POE and basic/advanced routing protocols.
QOS is supported on all the supervisor engines. Sup2+/Sup2+10-GE/Sup2+TS supervisor engines are L2 sup engines only and supports basic layer 3 routing protocols only i.e Ripv1/v2 and inter-vlan routing only. Supervisor engine 4/5/5-10GE supports all the basic and advanced routing protocols.
POE is supported accross al the chassis, you need POE capable power supplies and POE capable line cards on the chassis.
HTH,Please rate if it does.
