Am I need another Firewall to protect MSFC 6509 ??

Hi All,

We deployed FWSM on 6509 & we create 4 Fire wall context to protect our internal & DMZ but what about MSFC which is connected to Internet, or what is best solution? Are we need another ASA to protect the MSFC ??

Hi

It's a bit unclear due to lack of topology details but if the MSFC you are referring to is in the same chassis as the FWSM then there is no reason why you cannot have another context with the MSFC behind the FWSM rather than buying a separate device.

However there are also good reasons to buy a separate firewall as well. Perhaps you coudl give some more detail.
