GRE/IPSec Tunnel congestion (output drops)

Hello All

Any idea what can be causing tunnel interface output drops? All my p-2-p tunnels are reporting output drops.

My remote sites each contain three T1's (PPP Multilink setup) My serial interface;s are not reporting output drops, my Multilink interfaces are reporting perhaps 5% drops compared to the tunnel interface.

Central site contains a DS3 (Carved 18Mbps)

I just cleared the counters and will be monitoring the results.

Thanks

Hank

One of the reasons for the increase of dropped packets is that the input rate to the serial interface exceeds the bandwidth available on the serial link

Also check your MTU. You could have fragmentation occuring due to 24byte GRE overhead.

You are traffic-shaping on the DS3 or are you sending 45Mb to the 18Mb circuit?
