I have a configuration that requires a serial port to ignore the DCD signal upon startup and have configured it as such with 'ignore-dcd'. The port is SNMP controlled and in the shutdown state at boottime with 'shutdown' command. The issue I have is that the ignore-dcd command is executed after the shutdown command and opens the port when the router is booted up. Any suggestions? Unless I goofed I could not change the order of the two commands.

Ouch, sorry, I think if the intention is to boot with the port down ad 'ignore-dcd', and doesn';t work, there is no configuration that would allow that to work.

Thanks for the response. More investigation reveals that adding the 'ignore-dcd' command opens an interface that is adminstratively down. Not sure why behavior is as such.
