Hi All,

Could someone explain to me the following regarding 3750 switch stack technology

1. Will the master do all processing (i.e. routing, packets travels to ports of all member switch) or it will be distributed to all member switch in the stack?

2. If I have two member switch in a stack and currently in production, can I add two more without affecting the operation of these two member switch in production?

TIA

For a good overview of the behaviour of Catalyst switch stacks see "Understanding Switch Stacks" in Managing Switch Stacks at

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps5023/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a00801a6558.html

1. The master is responsible for a lot of the processing but not all of it.

2. You can safely add more units to the stack without effecting the operation of the stack.
