VG 224 SCCP SRST Fall Back

Unanswered Question
Apr 19th, 2007

Hi,

We want to do SRST on VG 224. i did that configuration on VG,

sccp local FastEthernet0/0

sccp ccm 10.1.1.1 identifier 10 (CCM)

sccp ccm 10.1.2.1 identifier 20 (SRST Router)

sccp ccm group 1

associate ccm 10 priority 1

associate ccm 20 priority 2

switchback method graceful

It is working with CCM but when we shut connection with CCM, SRST is not working. I mean VG 224 didnt associate to Router. There is no configuration lines on router about SCCP or SRST.

Can anyone help for that problem?

Thanks

I have this problem too.

Do you mean by 'There is no configuration lines on router about SCCP or SRST. ' that you haven't configured the router for SRST? I.e. you haven't any config starting 'call-manager-fallback'?

If so, you can't really expect it to work yet :-)

If you can post your router config and sh ver we can review...

Thanks for your replies,

i did that configuration,

stcapp ccm-group 1

stcapp

sccp local FastEthernet0/0

sccp ccm 10.1.1.1 identifier 1 / CCM 1

sccp ccm 10.2.1.1 identifier 2 / CCM 2

sccp ccm 10.3.1.1 identifier 3 /CCM 3

sccp ccm 10.4.1.1 identifier 4 / router (SRST

sccp

sccp ccm group 1

associate ccm 1 priority 1

associate ccm 2 priority 2

associate ccm 3 priority 3

associate ccm 4 priority 4

switchback method graceful

dial-peer voice 6300 pots

service stcapp

port 2/0

Normally SCCP is working with CCMs but when i close the connection with CCMs, VG did not associate with router. I did SRST configuration on router but it is not working.

Thank you.

Hi,

I've a similar problem, but it's the delay of the vg224 to register their ports with the SRST router.

Normally Ip phones register with SRST router in less than 2 minutes, but VG224 ports register in 10 or more minutes. That's normal?

Please let me know.

Hi Team,

I also have the same problem. Infact its quiet less compared to Andres issue. In my case, VG 224 fallback to SRST takes around 3 minutes. But IP Phones are quiet fast. Can we reduce the fallback time of VG224 bcoz customer is more specific on less time?

pls advice

Did anyone ever get an answer to this issue?

We have a customer with a mix of IP phones and VG224s configured as SCCP.

In the event of WAN failure, the IP phones fail over to SRST within 2 minutes but the VG224's take about 5 minutes. Is there any way to reduce the time it takes a VG224 to fail over to SRST?

vincent.morton Fri, 06/28/2013 - 04:30

Carlos, thanks for your reply but that's how they're already configured. The only alternative I've been able to find is switchover method immediate but it's not supported.

The issue is that it takes far longer for the VG224s to failover than the IP phones so when they have an outage, they can't phone between analog and IP phones on the same site.

Does anyone know how to reduce the time between loss of connectivity between a VG224 and CUCMs and registration with their SRST gateway?
