Re-using Avaya Headsets?

I have a customer that wants to re-use a significant quantity of Avaya headsets with Cisco 7960 phones. The Avaya parts are:

1. bottom cable = 49323-04

2. head set = 49083-01

I have gtried a test with a 7960, but it doesn't quite work. If I plug it into the headset jack, I get no audio in either direction. If I plug it into the handset jack, I the headset can hear the remote end, but the headset mic doesn't seem to work.

Cisco documentation points me to:

http://cisco.getheadsets.com or http://vxicorp.com/cisco

The first link doesn't work, and the second link has no list of supported sets.

Any ideas on how to investigate this or change a cable to get this to work?

Thanks!

Hi Aaron,

The Avaya 49083-01 is a re-branded Plantronics Supra Monaural NC. If you order the Plantronics Part# (26716-01) for about US$12 you will be good to go :)

Plantronics Quick Disconnect to Modular Plug 10-Foot Coiled Cable (26716-01)

Hope this helps!
