what is the best practice design of having a redundant core switch?

the scenario is;

2 x 6500

2 edge switches in each floor

The best design practice is using 2 fibers/ethernet links from each edge switch and connect the links to each 6500 at the core.Connect inturn both the 6500 to make a traingle. Use the PVST and MHSRP to do the STP load-balancing and L3 traffic load-balancing using MHSRP.

Another option would be to run connect both the edge switches and then inturn run a single link from each edge switch to connect to each core 6500.Again run the STP and MHSRP load-balancing at the core.
