How to adjust gatekeeper register timer

We use two gatekeepers to maintain failover, so for each gateway, I confiugre like:

interface BVI1

ip address 10.0.56.31 255.255.255.128

h323-gateway voip interface

h323-gateway voip id GK1 ipaddr 142.x.x.11 1719 priority 120

h323-gateway voip id GK2 ipaddr 142.x.x.139 1719

h323-gateway voip h323-id SQPSTN1

h323-gateway voip tech-prefix 1#

h323-gateway voip bind srcaddr 10.0.56.31

This works well when one gatekeeper is down, gateways will register with second gatekeeper. However the problem is, all gateways take over 15 seconds to failover to second gatekeeper. The default register retry and timeout are too long, so I use:

Voice Service

H323

ras timeout grq 3

ras retry grq 1

But this doesn't work, re-register still takes over 15 seconds.

How can I change the register timer?

Hi,

I think you should configure RRQ timeout, instead of GRQ timeout.

"ras timeout rrq X"
