IP routing on Cisco Catalyst 2960 switch

HI,

one of the L3 switch of ours is gone bad and i want to make a standby routing switch (Basic routing)ip subnet routing.

Can 2960 support for this,

Can some guide me how to enable basic IP routing for sub net routing on cisco catalyst 2960 switch

Hi Giris,

2960 is a pure layer 2 switch and does not support ip routing. You can only have one vlan interface up and up with an ip address just for management purpose.
