Inline power verification

Hi Netpro's,

I have a 6506 sup1a with ws-x6348-rj45 module. how can i verify whether it is 'PoE' ready? Any valuable inputs appreciated.

Yes you can field upgrade the module to a Cisco Prestandard POE daughter card not the IEEE 802.3af standard. The part number you need is WS-F6K-VPWR=.

Hi Faiz,

If it is CATOS then issue a command "show environment power " and if you are running Native IOS then issue a command "sh power inline "

But if your card model number is ws-x6348-rj45 I do not think it supports inline power but if it is WS-X6348-RJ-45V then it does support inline power.

I think u r right, this module does not support Inline Power. I have read somewhere that in order to upgrade this module it has to install a daughter card to enable this PoE feature, I am not sure but. If its true then please let me know any documentation supporting this upgrade feature.
