router dead process

we have a router cisco 3825.

the router has 256 mb of memory, but it is not using all of it because of dead process which is called "usb_startup" this dead process takes something like 60mb of the router memory. the reload command doesnt solve the problem.

how can we solve the probelm?

Hi,

please post output of "show version" and "show process memory ", where is the PID of "usb_startup", first number on the left.

Also, do you have any error message leading you to believe the router is out of memory ?

the "usb_startup" is only seen on the show memory dead command.

here is a capture of the show memomry, you can see that the sum of process and i/o is not even close to 256 mb.

when i use the show process memory command you can see that dead process is using 60mb
