Hello;

First time using these forums; How can i check when a switching port was in last use? What command shuld i be using?

Hi there,

Try "show logging", but note for the logging buffer if you are locally logging.

I'd agree with show log.

You could also try sh int fax (see line 7 "Last input")

Same for serial links also.

FastEthernet0/x is down, line protocol is down

Hardware is Fast Ethernet, address is 0030.1942.d458 (bia 0030.1942.d458)

MTU 1500 bytes, BW 0 Kbit, DLY 100 usec, rely 255/255, load 1/255

Encapsulation ARPA, loopback not set, keepalive not set

Duplex setting unknown, Unknown Speed, 100BaseTX/FX

ARP type: ARPA, ARP Timeout 04:00:00

Last input never, output never, output hang never

Last clearing of "show interface" counters never

Queueing strategy: fifo

Forgot to say that if it was a subinterface, you'll need to add the following command

Switch(config-if)#logging event subif-link-status
