Hi All!

I've a problem with my new Cisco 7960 Phone.

I want to configure my 7960 for using it with SIP. But default the firmware is based on Call Manager. So, I tried to get new firmware into the phone, but I can't get it working.

I've set up a TFTP server. In the root there are some files:

OS79XX.TXT

P0S3-08-2-00.loads

P0S3-08-2-00.sb2

P003-08-200.bin

P003-08-2-00.sbn

SEP001A2FA6F9D2.cnf.xml

SIP001A2FA6F9D2.cnf

SIPDefault.cnf

XMLDefault.cnf.xml

I get the P0*.* files from the Cisco site. That's the SIP 8.2 firmware.

When I turn my phone on, I see the following in my phone screen:

Configuring VLAN

Configuring IP

Configuring CM List

Configuring IP

Configuring CM List

Configuring IP

Configuring CM List

Configuring IP

Configuring CM List

.......

In my TFTP server logs I see this:

Please help me to configure my phone!

Hi Dadido,

Unfortunately the cisco phones are not particularity easy to use with a non-cisco callmanager. This said, luckily there is a lot of info on the subject on voip-info.org, just search cisco 7960.

In your case, the first step is to configure the "load" to change the firmware to SIP.

Note that Cisco also released a version of SIP software for "non-callmanager" application, currently 8.6(0). Strangely enough, it has not been reviewed on voip-info.org.

Good luck!

Hope this helps, if so please rate post using the scrollbox below!

Thank you for your fast reply!

I've already downloaded the SIP software for non-callmanager. The version I've downloaded is 8.3

I will search on voip-info.org. I hope I can find a way to use my 7960. If you've more tips, please tell me.

Regards,

Danido.
