New to CCNA

Unanswered Question

Hi, I am newbee to the Routing world and thinking of taking my CCNA within next few months. Since a newbee i would prefer the two exam approach, 640-821 and then 640-811.

Could some some recommend some good books? Also, is there a need to rent online racks to get some hands on.

I have this problem too.

Hi Saurabh,

These are some of the books you can refer to?

Sybex CCNA study guide

CCNA INTRO Exam Certification Guide

CCNA Self-Study: Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices (ICND), Second Edition

Its not necessary to rent racks for CCNA stuff. There are lot of simulators available in the market like boson, Dynamips etc.

HTH, rate if it does

The Odom's books are imho the bests for passing CCNA. They are published at Cisco Press :

I've learned the CCNA with the following books :

* CCNA INTRO Exam Certification Guide

* CCNA ICND Exam Certification Guide

And finally, 2 weeks before taking the exam, I drilled my knowledge and my understanding with the Cisco Press book "CCNA Flash Cards and Exam Practice Pack" (authors : Eric Rivard and Jim Doherty).

With these three books, if you read (and understand) them carefully, if you have the opportunity to practice a little bit on real equipments, you should not face any problem for passing your exam.

Finally, depending if you feel confident enough, you can take the combined exam (INTRO + ICND).

Good luck,
