I have MGX8250 and recently i have inserted in VISM-8E1 card . Presently the VISM -8E1 card is in BOOT mode . I am not sure how do i burn a firmware into that . in MGX8850 setrev is the command . I have found in MGX8250 documentation in Cisco site and the command is commit sm <rev> . I have applied that but the command is not going thru . Can you please let me know the exact command .

I want to burn 002.001.000.000 image.

You have to first execute the PXM install command ...

"install sm "

e.g. "install sm 1 vism_8t1e1_002.001.000.000.fw"

Then you have to execute the PXM newrev command ...

"newrev sm "

e.g. "newrev sm 1 vism_8t1e1_002.001.000.000.fw"

Finally you have to execute the PXM commit command ...

"commit sm "

e.g. "commit sm 1 vism_8t1e1_002.001.000.000.fw"

Hello Joerm ,

Thanks for the update . But the command didn't work as expected . Finally i got the

process and i am planing to apply .

The problem is MGX8250 is pretty old box and the commands diffres from MGX8850 chassis .

C:\cp vism_8t1e1_002.001.000.000.fw \FW\sm150.14.fw

install sm 14 002.001.000.000
