Morning, is there any way to tell the approximate age of a switch (mfg. date) ?
I can approximate by the datestamp on the IOS but was loking for a beter method ? Thanks, Bud.

That's a tough one. I dont think there is any command which will tell you the mfg date of the switch.

Look at the chassis.

hi, sh tech-supp does not show any production dates ! only the software release dates und the uptime is shown here... the only hint is as earliery noted look at the chassistop - the yellow laser class product note shows the manufactured date e.g Jul 16 2002

I was hoping to find something that works remotely. I don't have the luxury of having someone at all of the sites. I can approximate the ages using model and IOS release dates. etc. but the bean-counters are looking for real answers. Thanks all for your help.
