I didn't set up my phone for DHCP, it has a static ip. I don't know if the problem is in this configuration or in the network. The CME and IP phone 7940 are connected to a cisco switch, and to the same vlan. Is there anything i'm missing here?

Sorry fella, what exactly is the issue? What isn't the phone doing?

Well after i plugged the phone, i was expecting to see the reload process and the phone getting the configuration and the firmware from the CME, so in the beginning it seemed that it's doing fine, but later it didn't work out and instead the phone got frozen with a "tftp timout" message on the screen.
I tried to reset the phone to default settings without any success. I've been contacting you guys for a week and everybody is telling me to reset it by unplugging the cellphone and again plugging power to it alongside holding down on "#", then push 123456789*0#. Beleive me i did this 10 times at least and the phone is still frozen and i can't even get access to the manual setting. Isn't that weird?

Hi,
under telephony-service, you need "ip source-address ...". Put the same address as defined for TFTP in dhcp, that is, an interface active on the router, in the phone vlan if one is used.
Hope this helps, plase rate post if it does!

"create cnf-files" might also be needed under telephony-service.
Phones might register the first time, but doing a reset or restart in telephone-service might also give tftp-timeout.
