Hi,

6500 sup2/MSFC right now running with 12.1(26)E5 and now i want to upgrade to 12.2(18)SXD.

I have active and standby sup with RPR+ redudancy mode.

Can i follow below step:

1. copy the 12.2 image in disk0 and slavedisk0

2. change boot with 12.2

3. wr mem

4. reload standby sup , so it will come up with 12.2 ios

5. redudancy force switchover so that standby become active and active will reload with 12.2 ios and come as standby..

Is it correct ?

OR Can any one provide me procedure ?

Thanks in advance.

By now you have either tried this or got your answer so I am actually wondering how it went. I am in the middle of the exact same thing. I am up to the part where I restarted my slave sup. It seems to come up ok but after all of what I should see I then get an error. I am wondering if this is actually normal since they aren't in sync anymore. I am waiting for a good time to try the changeover. How did yours go and what messages did you get after you reloaded the slave with the updated IOS?

I understand the original poster may not even see this so any others with insight are welcome to comment.

Thanks in advance.

I have tried the same procedure and it worked fine...

But please ensure that you change config-register 0x2102 even though it is there and verify bootvariable once again....

Procedure.

1. Copy image in disk0: and slavedisk0:

2. Change boot variable.

3. change config-register 0x2102.

4. Wr mem.

5. Here Active and standby sup will sync with config.

6. Reload standby sup.

7. Once Stgandby sup comes up

8. Do redudancy force switchover....

9. Standby will be active with 12.2 IOS and active will get reloaded and will come up with 12.2 IOS....

This procedure works fine....

Chintan
