No Carrier Detect T1 CSU/DSU WIC 2600 Router

When we loopback the WIC, the far end sees a good connection, but when the loopback is released, the CD LED goes out.

Crossed wires maybe?

It's a remote site, so I have not double checked yet.

Yes, crossed wires would behave like that.

Protocol mismatch would also behave like that (i.e., PPP on one side, HDLC or Frame-Relay on the other).

Scott, I wouldn't agree. On a L2 protocol mismatch you will have LEDs OK, controller and interface up, line protocol down.
