LAN 1 is connected to a LAN Port

LAN 2 is connected to the WAN Port

The Router is getting a DHCP address

for the WAN side from a DHCP server

on the LAN 2 network.

How would I know what

the default gateway IP would be.

Also the only thing I can change is

settings on the Router Connected to LAN 1.

I cannot change anything thats on LAN 2

Since both LANs are connected to the same router, then nothing is to be done on the router, the router routes automatically between its directly connected interfaces, the only thing to be done is to configure the default gateway on the PCs on both sides to use the router as their default gateway.

The second option is to enable proxy ARP on the router interfaces.

Thats the problem, I can not change anything

on the PC's on LAN 2.

The gateway on LAN2's router to the internet

can not be changed, nor the PC's that use that router.

Can you add a static route on the internet router pointing back to LAN1 IPs making the next-hop the router connecting the 2 LANs.

You mean add on static IP on LAN1

that is normaly dynamic IP's

Yes I think I could get them to give me one

Static IP for the WAN side of the router

and the LAN side is already all Static

All that we need is a route on the internet router of LAN2 that points back to LAN1 through the first router, so you'll need to add a static route on the internet router pointing back to LAN1 IPs making the next-hop the router connecting the 2 LANs (the first router).

There must be another router involved on LAN2? You need to add a route on LAN2 to LAN1 subnet via WAN port you mentioned above.
