Hi
I have a Cisco 1721 with a WIC-ADSL in it. Trying to set this up but cant get it to work, tried this config: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk175/tk15/technologies_configuration_example09186a008071a60e.shtml
I know my ISP uses the vci/vpi values of 8/35 however they do not use ppp authentication.
Should I still use a config like in the link above but skip the ppp chap, username and password. Or do I have to configure it in a whole different way?

If your ISP dosen't use authentication you cannot use authentication at your side as the data trasfer will fail. configure OAM and see the status of the link.

If you need to supply a username and password to connect than they use some form of PPP. They should be able to give you all the parameters you need to know to set up your own router.
Some ISP's will use PPP without authentication but not many.
What details have they provided you with?

This link has a lot of configuration options one of which should work once you find the correct profile you need to set up.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk175/tk15/tech_configuration_examples_list.html
You are basically looking to do PPPoA, PPPoE, RFC1483 Routing or RFC1483 Briding.
The configuration is the same whether its a fixed DSL router (800 series) or an ADSL WIC card.
