Console only access to 877W

I've managed to change some settings on my 877W such that I now only have console access to it. How can I reset it so that I can go back and start the configuration using SDM express (where the 877W has an IP address of 10.10.10.1)?

Hi,

I am not sure if that your problem is password recovery or not, but here you are the steps, you can do a "write erase" to erase all the previous configuration and start from the beginning, please don't hesitate if you have further questions.

HTH, please rate if it does help,

It's possible you disabled the HTTP server. SDM won't connect then, being web-based. Check your config, if it has the line "no ip http server" go into config mode and re-enable it with "ip http server"

Thanks for your help. I managed to get it working again.

I followed some instructions to reset the unit thinking it would give me back the default config with the http server listening on 10.10.10.1 but from the console it seemed to be missing the LAN setup. To get it back again I was looking at the files on the flash area and saw sdmconfig-8xx.cfg. I then issued to commands to re-instate the LAN setup and everying was OK.

Many thanks for your help.

Hi,

You are welcomed, i am glad it worked.

BR,

Mohammed Mahmoud.
