discrepancy between datacollection and device discovery

After a new device discovery and data collection I noticed a difference : device discovery :269 device, data collection :272 devices. As I think to know, the data collection is based on the device list of DCR (device discovery) . How can this discrepancy be explained, especially that the DataCollections counts more devices than the Device discovery ??

You are correct that Data Collection uses devices in DCR. This discrepancy is most likely due to devices being added to DCR outside of Discovery (i.e. manual addition, import, added from DFM).
