dual vtp servers in network - propogation

Level 1

Redundant 6509s in network each is set to vtp mode server.

As both are vtp servers, if changes are made on one of the 6509s will the chg propogate to the other 6509 vtp server or does it require manual update?

Each 6509 is configured for even / odd VLAN priorities, etc.

Thanks

Hi Friend,

When you have 2 VTP servesr in network and if they have same domain name and password and have trunk connection between them , any changes in vlan database made on one VTP server will be propogated to second server also and rest of the VTp client switches will also update themselves and you need not manually configure the vlans on other VTP server.

Remember only vlan database changes are propogated and not anything else like vlan priority and other stuff.
