2600 QOS Wan

Please help as I have something wrong in my QOS config. We have approximately 6 servers we want to guarantee 512 bandwidth to when our T1 line gets congested; this seems to work when congestion hits but in normal operation it seems as if access to all other servers/workstations across the wan is slow. Do I need to do something more with default-queue? Am I going about this in a totally wrong way? We do not have VOIP on these links yet. I am going to copy in the part of my config so you can see what I have done.

class-map match-all webapps

match access-group name webapps

!

!

policy-map priority

class webapps

bandwidth 512

class class-default

fair-queue

I have defined service-policy output priority on my T1 serial link

My access list is as follows:

ip access-list extended webapps

permit ip any host 10.0.9.229

permit ip any host 10.0.1.224

permit ip any host 10.0.1.79

permit ip any host 10.0.1.72

permit ip any host 10.0.1.149

permit ip any host 10.0.1.239

permit ip any host 10.0.1.182

I have the opposite access list on the 3745 router on the other side of the wan.

i.e.

ip access-list extended webapps

permit ip host 10.0.9.229 any

permit ip host 10.0.1.224 any

permit ip host 10.0.1.79 any

permit ip host 10.0.1.72 any

permit ip host 10.0.1.149 any

permit ip host 10.0.1.239 any

permit ip host 10.0.1.182 any

I would appreciate any help you can provide.

This should work as desired. Is the performance better when the policy is not applied?

Daniel

Yes, one application that really suffers is remote control of a workstation over the wan when this policy is applied. I thought this would use the default-queue which in a congested time should get 256 (or would it get 512)? I get mixed up if default-queue is included in the 25% that is reserved.
