I have a Cisco 7206VXR (NPE-G2) on a gig ethernet WAN link (pure ethernet ie not over SDH) - if we have a CCT failure from the PTT side we can no longer access the router via the WAN. So it looks like the GIGE interface locks up. It appears that the link is not restablishing after a problem and IP is not coming up. Apparently the PTT say this is a known problem with GIGE on cisco routers? And suggest that bouncing the interface would solve this. This however is not practical as requires manual intervention after a failure. Please could anyone advise if they have seen this before or has an ideas on what this could be and how to progress this. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Im afraid that this is a clear as i can make it - if the cct goes down and then comes back up we lode connectivity to the box... Was wondering whether this is a known issue and looking for suggestions on how to troubleshoot. Thanks

Hi,
Suggest you open a case with the TAC so that the "know bug" can be identified and reproduced.
Is not tolerable for a router that an interface becomes not usable following an interruption.
