Version 12.2(17r)S1, I have the IP address and would like to track to the ethernet port they are connected to, what commands can I use. I tried the sh ip arp but it only shows the vlan not the phisical port.
Copy the MAC that you see in the ARP table for the IP and execute the following command in the switch to identify the port through which the MAC address was learned.
On IOS switch:
show mac-address-table address
On CatOS switch:
show cam
