We are looking to setup home offices that can have only 1 Ip Phone. We already have ASA5505 at site A they would work fine connecting back to the ASA5505 at site B but we are looking for the same sort of device but cheaper. As it will coonect to the existing ASA5505 on site B together w/ the ASA on site A.
Can anyone recommend?
thanks,
Robert

Hi, you can look at the series 800 routers, there are various models depending the WAN connection and features wanted, see:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps380/prod_models_comparison.html
The asa has the advantage of POE ports, the router (selected models) can be connected directly to the circuit, and can have embedded wireless.
If budget is the main concern, use the VPN client on the PC and IP communicator instead of a physical phone.
Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!
