Metro connectivity

Which router should i use for metro ethernet connectivity. i have two site and each site have around 1000 users. ritenow i am using cisco 2821 router with 2 giga cards. or no need to change the router ? pls guide me.

Deciding the correct hardware requires lots of key inputs like bandwidth traverse between the locations and the kinda processing speed you expect on both the sides.

Are you gonna connect your locations onto the Gig E port ?

If yes whats the bandwidth subscribed from the telco/SP which provides the connectivity between your locations ?

do you also have any other kinda services being offered or used from any of these locations ?

You can very well use 2821 router as CE router to terminate ME link. The CE router shall not be running any Metro services.
