Hi,
I was trying to install the CiscoWorks SNMS software. Instalation went good, but when I try to access the Cisco works web interface and enter the userid and password, then web page error as web page not found.
When I check the error.og, I saw the details in attached file. What can be the problem?

At this point (i.e. today), there are no errors in the file. Check to make sure the SNMS services are running (i.e. what does pdshow report?), and check to make sure you're accessing SNMS on the correct port (default is 1741).

Hi,
SNMS is running in 1741 port and I can enter the userid and password too.
But after entering the id and password, it says page cannot find.
I have attached the pdshow result.
In the event viewer I see the below log:
The Apache service named Apache.exe reported the following error:
>>> Syntax error on line 61 of d:/program files/cscopx/mdc/apache/conf/httpd.conf: <<<
before the error.log file could be opened.
More information may be available in the error.log file. .
What can be the problem?
Pervious mail I have send the error log file.

Please include your d:/program files/cscopx/mdc/apache/conf/httpd.conf file. It is obviously corrupt, and this is why Apache is not starting.

I tryed to attach the httpd.conf file, but cisco server is giving error. will try later.
i just installed the software from the CD. So how can the file get corrupt?
Is it possible to get the http.conf file?

Without seeing the file, I cannot say how or why it could be corrupt. It is best to fix your local httpd.conf.

Hi,
when ever i try to upload the file, i get the below error message from cisco server for past 2 days:
"Server Error
This server has encountered an internal error which prevents it from fulfilling your request. The most likely cause is that the web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.
"
What is the problem, will it be possible to upload the file?

No idea. You should use the NetPro Feedback link to report this problem. In the meantime, try zipping the file, then see if you can attach it. If that doesn't work, see if you can paste the portion of the file around the offending line.

Hi,
I have attached the file httpd.conf file.
Can you please tell where the problem is?

Your installation is bad. At this point, your only choice is to completely uninstall SNMS, then reinstall it. On what version of Windows did you install this? Please post your original installation log.

I installed it in Microsoft Windows 2000 Server 5.0.2195 Service Pack 4.
Which is the file name to check the original installation log?
05-17-2007 07:16 PM
There should be Ciscoworks_setup*.log files in C:\. One of them will correspond with the installation of SNMS.

Attached files is details of setup log.

It looks like SNMS was properly installed on January 6, 2005, but must have been corrupted later. The two failed reinstallations since then did not help matters.
At this point, you should uninstall, then manually delete the D:\progra~1\CSCOpx directory. From there, you should be able to do a clean installation (as a local Administrator) and have success.

Now I have got the new upgrade installation cd.
If I uninstall and reinstall the the SNMS with upgrade cd will it work?
As my old cd is misplaced and it is not their.
