end hosts not listed on user tracking report

Hi,

Campus manager detects all connected ports on our switch.

Our problem is that report (on user tracking) only shows the pc on it ciscoworks is installed, not all pcs connected.

On topology services pages,we have the list of ports with their status, but on device name and device address, campus manager puts switch's IP address, not the ip of pcs connected.

We use LMS2.5.Campus Manager 4.0.3

Are you seeing the MAC address show up properly in the CAM/MAC tables via show commands?

Can you query them via snmp (this link is useful: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk648/tk362/technologies_tech_note09186a0080094a9b.shtml)

Also, have you enabled vmpsadmin debugs for UT to see what is showing in the ut.log?

Hi,

good url, thanks.

yes, vmpsadmin is enabled.

I don't know how to launch snmpwalk ...vtpVlanState/dot1dTpFdbAddress ... on our campus manager, it's installed on win 2003 server.

We've got same mac address on switch and in ani.log file.

We've something like follow in the log file :

mac_address_1 ip_switch NULL inactive1

mac_address_2 ip_switch NULL inactive1

mac_address_3 ip_switch NULL inactive1

mac_address_4 ip_switch NULL inactive1

why can't we have the real ip address of pcs ?

Hi Davistan,

Here attached is the output of ani.log.

One more question, there's anothere switch on our lan, there's vlan on it, but it's no infos concerning it on the file log, no mac address of host connected to it.

Hi,

We've launched reinitdb.pl and we have the list of all pcs now.

Thanks
