High CPU Utilization

Frequently, in our wireless environment, our access points are alarming with high cpu utilization. It seems to essentially shut down the access point. When pinging the device, it replies every so often, but mostly it just times out. We have the cisco AIR-AP1231G-A-K9 model AP's. Usually, a hard reboot resolves the issue. What is going on?

Hi.

I "show proc cpu" may help to give you an idea if/what process is eating CPU.

Also, if you're running code less than 12.3(2)JA2, you probably will want to upgrade as there is a known issue in earlier versions where servicing requests were killing CPU(CSCee39021).

Hope this helps.
