Hi folks!

We want some advice on implementing H.A .

We have a router connecting my LAN and another site with two serial redundant (2 x 2MB ppp links. This router uses RIP v2 to propagate routes to my LAN. If I add another router, with the same capabilities (RIPv2, 2 x 2MB serial links, etc) what is the better H.A protocol to be used, VRRP or GLBP?

Is there any compatibility problem with VRRP or GLBP and RIPv2?

thank you , and have a nice day!

GLBP provides first-hop, Layer 3 redundancy service while sharing the network load over multiple devices and upstream paths. You can configure GLBP in such a way that traffic from LAN clients can be shared by multiple routers, thereby sharing the traffic load more equitably among available routers.
