Replacement for 1721?

HI -- we've been using 1721s as endpoints for control LANs at the end of 10Mb (or slower) WAN circuits -- 10/100 connection to the local LAN, and a WIC-1ENET to the WAN.

I see that the 1721 is now marked EOS -- but I don't see anythign anywhere with regard to recommended migration platforms. My basic requirements are for ethernet (or in rare cases, a frame relay) connection on the WAN side, with potential to backhaul via IPSEC. Can anyone recommend an appropriate equivalent to consider? It would appear that the 28xx and 18xx families seem to be mentioned in a number of postings...

Hi, the smaller router that does the job for you would be the 871, optionally has wireless and vlan / other things with the "advanced ip services image".

Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

Not sure why my answer was rated 1, as it is totally correct. But whatever, good luck.
