Is BGP not included in all IOS images I just bought a new 2811 router and it says bgp is not in this image.

When I try to type
Router BGP
I get an error message stating that the protocol is not included in this image

Hi,
This means that your image is most probably an IP Base image, you'll need to download at least a SP image.

Though Mohammed is right that all SP eservices image would support BGP, this is not the only feature set you would be looking for to run BGP.
The advance IP services and Enterprise service feature set also support BGP.
The advance security feature set did not support BGP but beginning with 12.4(4)T BGP support was added to this feature set..
