Hello,

Can someone tell me why I can't access my 6509 by telnet or console?

It's saying "Access not permitted. Closing connection." Even if I have the username and password for the switch.

Thanks,

Onin

Hi Ninora,

you get the message only while telneting the

switch or even for console also?

configured TACACS or RADIUS?

lemme know the status.

I'm getting the message on both (telnet and console). It's configured on TACACS also.

Thanks for the reply and hope you can help me.

God Bless..

Thanks

Mahmood

Hi,

make sure on the TACACS server 6509 has been configured as a member, bcoz some times what happens is, if the TACACS commands are issued in the switches, but didn't make 6509 as a member in TACACS, u will face such kind of probz.

It's possible that a timeout value is not specified for Telnet or the console.

I used to access it before. How is that possible. But anyways, thanks for the reply.

So, password recovery won't work also?
