Hi,

Anyone has tried using one LMS server with two NIC cards to manage two dis-jointed networks?

Yes, this is perfectly fine to do. The only problem is with Gatekeeper-based applications and client access (e.g. Campus Manager Topology Services). On a multi-home server, clients can connect on one interface only. You need to specify the IP address of this interface in NMSROOT/lib/vbroker/gatekeeper.cfg (see the comments in this file for instructions).

However, when it comes to server-to-device communications, both NICs will be used based on the routing table on the server. Depending on your version of CiscoWorks, all applications may automatically adapt to a multi-home setup. RME 3.x required an additional property to be set.

Thanks for the information. Can I know what is required for RME 3.x to work? Is it documented in any manaul or help file? I will be getting the latest LMS 2.6.1.

Edit NMSROOT/objects/cmf/data/Transport.ini, and set the MULTI_HOME property to true, then restart dmgtd.
