RedHat support for WLSE converted to WCS/RHEL4

I've converted my WLSE appliance to WCS 4.1.83 as part of my conversion to LWAP and a new WiSM. During the conversion of the WLSE, RedHat 4 was installed.

What is the story with patches and so on with the OS? Is it hardened? Is it maintained by downloads from Cisco.com? Does it contain a license and support contract for accessing RedHat Network, and downloading patches from RedHat?

Do I need to buy a redhat support license? Can I install the latest Kernel and other patches without breaking my TAC support options?

Regards.

You will need to buy Redhat support for it. Unlike Cisco "app"liances, the WCS is just the application sw and not a bundled OS. You will need to do your own hardening for the server.

all OS patches & licensing will be from Redhat.

Only the WCS licensing will be from Cisco.\

You could also use CentOS repositories for your patches.
