I?m using IPCC Express 3.5(2)
As any of my fellow programmers know, CRA?s scripts leave a lot to be desired. What we want, as programmers, is to control the script in our environment of choice. For me, that happens to be (gasp!) ye old vb6.
In order to accomplish communications with my vb6 code (and then from there, messages on out to the rest of the enterprise) the vb6 code uses a light-weight web server which allows the vb6 to process http requests. So, I?m using the Create URL Document and cache document steps to build a bridge between the scripts and my code.
My problem, is that CRA is sending multiple requests. What I means is, when the cache document executes, my vb6 app receives multiple, duplicate http requests.
In fact, I have found during the first request, that if I return any http error code in the http response, CRA sends just one duplicate request. If I send http 200 (OK) then cra sends THREE duplicate requests.
Has anybody ever heard of this happening? Currently I?m working around the problem. I?m detecting and ignoring the duplicate requests, but I?d like to know how to stop these from happening completely. I mean, even if my vb6 app is dealing with this, the IPCC server is still sending at least twice the number of round-trips than is necessary, and I?m doing a _lot_ of messaging between the two.
Thanks in advance for your time.
