I have 4 cisco 2610 routers (only 1 with serial interface) and 1 2900 catalyst switch. Each router has 1 ethernet port. What are the options for back to back connections? or do i have to buy serial interfaces? thanks for your help.

I have this problem too.

That link is for if you want to 'simulate' a frame-relay environment. You'll need to have one of your routers act as a frame switch, which will require more serial interfaces. In your case, you would need to add two more serial interfaces to one of your 2610's. You might be able to find the right kind on E-bay. Then you need the right cables too of course.

Otherwise, you're left with using loopbacks or trunking between the router and switch (if they support it).

For cables to connect serial port I can use Back to Back DCE/DTE DB60 Crossover Cable (they are about $4 in ebay). but i did not find any cable for the smart serial port? thanks for your help. I am just looking for a cheapest, efficient way to setup my home lab.
