That is called DSP sharing.

To enable DSP sharing, use dspfarm commando in the voice-card configuration.

This example was taken from Voice GWs and GKs book.

2811 ISR with a PVDM2-16 in the mainboard and NM-HDV2 in slot 1. With this configuration, the DSPs on the main board are exported, allowing them to be allocated to voice calls arriving on a T1 or E1 port in the NM-HDV2. The DSPs in the NM-HDV2 are not being exported in this ex.

Router#conf t

Router(config)#network-clock-participate wic 2

Router(config)#network-clock-participate slot 1

Router(config)#voice-card 0

Router(config-voicecard)#dspfarm

Router(config-voicecard)#end

The DSPs on the main board of an ISR are configured under voice-card 0

I tried dspfarm command under voice-card 0 and made a call from pstn to ip phone, it rings but calling party did not hear ring back and when call was answered there was no audio!!

please help solving this issue
