Hi Friend,

Nops if the exit interface link is down or the router does not know how to reach the next hop then the static route will not appear in routing table.

Regards,

Ankur

Hi

The existence of a static route depends on the link status through which its pointed out.

If the outgoing interface is defined at the end of the static route and if the interface is down the static route will be taken off from the routing table.

routes are only visible if the distant end is up, the way around this would be to use the keyword persistant at the end of the static route command. this ensures that the route stays in the table even if the link is down.
