Hi
Iam working on a project to role out IPv6 to our network. We use HSRP to provide resilience to our customers instead of using BGP between us and them. Looking at the below link HSRP for IPv6 only allows a virtual Link local address is it possible to use a Global address instead. PS does anyone know when HSRP for IPv6 will be available on the Cat6500/720sup.
Kind Regards
Kev

It is not possible to use a global address. With the latest supervisor engine ie., sup32pisa support for IPV6 HSRP is available

Cheers for that, were using SUP720 so will have to look at using static link-local addresses for IPv6 HSRP, need to read up on any possible drawbacks of using link-local addresses on a service provider network.

Hi all,
Knowing that it seems Cisco ISR-G2 still doesn't support HSRP IPV6 with Global IP address. Is there any clue or does Cisco has any plan to implement this feature on ISR-G2?
Tks
