path to boost performance on a css-11506

Hi, I'm wondering what you guys recommend for boosting performance on a css-11506.

I understand that adding an additional scm will only help in terms of redundancy since a second scm will run only in a passive state. If I don't need any more network interfaces should I just add an SAM? Would a session accelerator module be the best way for the css to handle traffic/flow increases or do you recommend just getting another switch module?

Thanks

Dan,

adding a SAM module will allow the traffic to be processed my more CPU and therefore increase performance.

If the problem is the link BW, adding a SAM won't help. You will need to increase BW by going to Gig pr increasing number of interfaces.

Finally, if you have L7 rules where you don't need them, you can reduce CPU by going to L4/3

Gilles.

Thanks Gilles. I am already using gig interfaces on the CSS5-SCM-2GE module and also have a CSS5-IOM-2GE. Just looking for more cpu to handle traffic. I'll look in to buying a SAM module.

Thanks as usual for the help.
