ISDN is used quite a bit and will not go away anytime soon. Most MPLS topos use ISDN as the back to the primary DSL lines. Plus knowing how access-lists work with maps will help you understand how to configure IPSec on Cisco.

Well, The CCNP doesnt have ISDN anymore, the same goes for all CCIE exams.....

I don't think that ISDN is big concern in regards to CCNA.

If you take a look into some preparation book like this:

CCNA: exam 640-802 By Michael Valentine

you will find, that ISDN is mentioned only 12 times, and not even separate chapter or so.


It is ok to know what ISDN is, its bandwidth, that it is TDM technology, etc., even if you are not using it.

CCNA is about broader knowledge of networking.... CCXP are more deeper focused on particular technologies, they don't cover "all networking stuff".
