The only way to change the hostname is to rebuild the system :-(

Hello, we change the IP address in a 2 CCM cluster (versi?n 5.1(1)) and have problem with SUbscriber service that did not want to activate. The publisher is running ok, but subscriber don't. We change all the services and IP addressess references in the CCM configuration, also reboot simultaneously both servers and nothing change. Do you have any suggestions!!!!
Thanks a lot !

CCM 5.1 now allows you to change the hostname and IP of your Publisher during a W1 (DMA restore) upgrade.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_upgrade_guides09186a0080792e84
This feature will result in a bad DB records if, during the W1 upgrade, the user tries to set the new publisher's name or IP to values that existed in the cluster on another server during the DMA backup.
For example, if the user has a 4 node cluster and wants to make one of his subs into the new pub but doesn't want to change the hostname or IP (AKA, leave the old info on the box), the database tables will not update properly because the install will try to insert duplicate values and fail. The issue here is that these fails are not caught or handled correctly, so the install succeeds.
Chris W. from TAC created these bugs:
CSCsi57436 and CSCsi71420
One to alter the doc to alert customers to this limitation and another for the install to fail or to alert the user if these conditions are met.

asarlo,
I have the same issue that you have. Did you find a resolution?

You cannot change the hostname, you can change the IP address:
Yes
Use OS Administration >Settings>IP
or
CLI>set network IP

Hi
So what is the best way to change the hostname. Do a backup and restore onto a system with different hostname?
